Half the battle is having windows in their right places. Floaters gives you many ways to move, resize, and organize your floaters.

Hold Command (⌘) and click and drag anywhere on a floater to move it. No need to aim for that title bar.
Toggle a floater to ALWAYS be above other windows (even while inactive) with ⌘E or the icon in the title bar
Move and resize windows using just the keyboard
Use ⌘M to move or ⌘R to resize the current floater without using the mouse.
Hold ^⇧ (Control + Shift) when mousing over a floater to temporarily make it extra transparent
